The Sheds Cultural Centre
A multifunctional centre as a motor for regeneration
The Sheds is a cultural centre for a former dock in Ringön, intended as a motor for the regeneration of the area and as an icon for Ringön as a whole.
The exterior refers to the seemingly random composition of sheds, barns and workshops in the area: their characteristic silhouettes return in a new, carefully organised composition. Two towers — a reference to the tight street grid of central Gothenburg — pierce the collage and house stairs, lifts and an atrium that make the whole coherent and surprising.
